The festival is delighted to welcome Aylin Tezel to Australia, the director, screenwriter and star of Falling Into Place. The film is Tezel’s first feature-length film as a director, with her being awarded the Fipresci Critics Choice Award at the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival last November. 

Hailing from Bünde, Germany, Tezel had her acting breakthrough with main roles in Almanya: Welcome to Germany (2011) and Breaking Horizons (2012). Her recent roles include thriller 7500 (2019) and miniseries Unbroken (2021). Tezel gained her first experience behind the camera as a director of commercials and short films, including short film Phoenix (2020) starring Killian Scott, Brid Brennan and Leonie Benesch.
